This is an 80 pound weight difference between the two photos. I can’t believe that was ever me! So grateful for Crossfit Goldsboro! -Karen Tyson
Seeing your goals written down in your own handwriting has a powerful effect on your mind! Taylor-Quinn wrote down her fitness goals and handed them over. This is what she accomplished training at our facility in 3 months from 9/4/2015 to 12/4/2015………..
Lost 2.6% Body Fat
+6.5lbs of Lean Muscle Mass
(left-old max)……(right-new max)
Back Squat 165lbs……3×170
Front Squat 125lbs…..160
Strict Press 1×75……..3×85

She has been convenient in her effort- going to CF Classes 4-5 days/wk, following a simple Macro count each day, and attending 1 personal training session a week. Hopefully you can find the motivation within her efforts to help you achieve your goals or help with writing them down for 2016!
Just want to say it wouldn’t have been possible to do this good in college if it wouldn’t have been for you and all the Crossfit family! I was the 3rd fittest player of the 28 that came in this year and that’s all thank to you all. Tell Joey that all his screaming and crap talking helped me be able to deal with the college coaches also See you guys soon and best of luck to you all-Div. Special thanks to Crossfit Goldsboro for helping me in the last month get into shape. Set a new PR today with front squat, and in the past month have lost nearly twenty pounds. Thanks for putting up with me and pushing me to do more.-Jason Watford
255 front squat turned into a 285 front squat in 2 months…that’s what’s up — with Crossfit Goldsboro.-Jamie Thorndike
I’ll jump in with the PR numbers. At the start of this squat cycle, my 1RM was 205. Today, lifted up 255, 50# increase! That cycle was good but can we just do flutter kicks for a month to recover? — with Crossfit Goldsboro.-John Akers
Took a minute off my 8k time from last year’s 8k race thanks to Crossfit Goldsboro and crossfit endurance training kicking my butt the past few months. I have a long way to go, but better than yesterday. Every second counts just like every rep counts.--Lori Maker
Never would have thought that I would ever enjoy any Crossfit related workout’s…However, here I am almost at my 9 month marker @ Crossfit Goldsboro…Loving every day of feeling great about the progress I have made along the way! Whoot, Whoot!–Chasity Sansom
So in just 18 days roughly of strict Paleo I went from 18.7% Body fat to 15.2% and lost 6 pounds. Not bad! Hard work and a good diet can make such a huge difference in how you feel overall. Thanks Crystal Morris, Crossfit Goldsboro and everyone else for the support and push to get to where I am.–Chris Morris
Joey, Thanks for a great workout this morning!!! Always glad I make myself get out of bed and get to Crossfit!! Appreciate the encouragement and push to always do my best!!!–Tracie Wilson
Weighed in at 199 lbs this morning. Feeling conflicted about weighing under 200 lbs, but it’s a long way from the most I weighed at 250 about a year ago! A lot of thanks goes to Crossfit Goldsboro and the coaches there!- Steven Elliott
I just annihilated all previous personal records for the Air Force PT test! Thanks to 6 months of Crossfit and the hard work and motivation from Joey Murphy and Crossfit Goldsboro staff…I just scored a 98.1!–Ronnie Parker
2013 Goals: Run the 1.5 mile in under 12 minutes. Goal accomplished, today! In the past 10 years my best time was 12:24. Today, I ran it in 11:45. The running clinic in January by Sarah really paid off along with the 3-4 days a week I drag myself over to Crossfit Goldsboro. I get asked all the time why I pay for crossfit when I can just use the base gym. Easy answer, results. I used the gym for 15 years before I found crossfit, never got over an 80 on a PT test (still passed but barely). Past 4 tests with crossfit, all over 80s with today being my highest at 86.5. Of course I could be giving crossfit too much praise, might have just been the kill cliff I drank an hour before the test! – John Akers
This took a Lot for me to put this up here, but here you go….(as I swallow my pride)……. This is after 2 months of CrossFit and eating Paleo Diet!–Kat Nelson
The 45 Day Paleo Challenge results: -21 lbs total weight loss -3.5% BF loss -12.8 lbs BF loss -6″ off the big ol’ belly (still going) … …see below, obviously there’s definitely more work to be done. Thanks for the support! My overall health and well-being is def more important than the weight loss.. plus no more being bothered by incessant Paleo statuses….with Crossfit Goldsboro. –Adrain Herrera
This is my one rep max on strict shoulder press. #145lb from my previous #125. I have definitely seen improvement I didn’t hate weights. I was just too lazy to go to the gym, with crossfit I look forward to every WOD and to get better every day. Thanks for the hard work guys and for pushing the morning class everyday!- Jose Sanchez
Our journey in finding a healthier lifestyle, both mentally and physically, all began at CrossFit Goldsboro. Ava and I were both stuck in a boring routine at the local globo-gym and feeling unchallenged and dissatisfied with our workouts. When driving home one afternoon, we noticed a new CrossFit gym next door. I signed us up the next day without thinking twice about it. Ever since our first workout, the passion, excitement, intensity, joy, discomfort, and obsession have never stopped. CrossFit has pushed me harder than I have ever been pushed before, allowing me to accomplish things that I never thought were possible.
I have to say that the training staff was amazing at CrossFit Goldsboro – Mike Garrett, Joey Murphy, Brooks Garrett, Aaron Sanders, Katie Austin, and Amanda Morris. A big thanks to all of you and your dedication to making people healthier, stronger, and happier. My hat especially goes off to Mike and Joey for their level of knowledge and patience with their athletes. They are extremely dedicated to developing average people into athletes and making people realize abilities they never thought were attainable. Joey would always take the time with each individual to point out areas of improvement and teach them proper technique. He has impeccable form on every movement and is strong as an ox. My personal opinion, this is definitely what you want as a novice CrossFitter…..a coach that does everything better than you. Not only does it make you feel confident you are being taught correctly, but it gives you inspiration to try and get as good as they are – even though you might not ever be, it still will make you better as an individual.
Mike, or as I like to call “The Garrett”, was/and is an exceptional head coach and leader as well as an elite athlete. I can’t say enough about how well I think his training program is and his ability to influence and transform individuals. With every workout, movement, lift, etc. he had an explanation on how this improved your body as well as its effect on other lifts. This was very important to me as it gave me a strong foundation and knowledge of the lifts. Mike is like a Sports Conditioning Encyclopedia; it was awesome to hear him talk sports psychology and to see his passion gave me motivation to want to get better.
When I started at CrossFit Goldsboro in the beginning of August, I weighed 242 lbs. Through proper diet and dedication to showing up to class, I lost 30 lbs over the period of 7 months and went from a waist size of 38 to a 34. The experience that Ava and I had at CrossFit Goldsboro/CrossFit Mount Olive is one that I would wish for any CrossFitter to have. The training regimen is superb and brings different challenges to you every day. One of the most important aspects of this gym is the family atmosphere. Everyone gets along and pushes each other to get better. Ava and I have built some lifelong friendships through CrossFit Goldsboro. We are so happy and fortunate to have been a part of this gym from the beginning and hope that everyone else will have the same experience that we had.
We were sad to move away and leave CrossFit Goldsboro, but have taken a strong foundation with us that will help us become better athletes in the future. We will never forget our roots!–Ava Henderson & Brent Olson
