(Brian on the left)
Some of us know him as Brian others Brain (depending on who is writing names on the board…Mike) and to some he’s that awesome guy that is always smiling and waving hello as we walk in the gym preparing to have out butt whipped into shape. Brian is a constant positive force that makes working enjoyable and something we look forward to. He is a hard working athlete, competitor, and overall one of the few we can group into the “man, he’s a good dude” category.
Brian started at CF Mt. Olive in 2011 after a couple trips through the country trying to locate the “white building, in between two brick homes (then) behind a big patch of grass. He fortunately succeeded and has been a beloved member ever since. Brian joined up with CFGB as soon as the doors were opened!
Brian is awesome, did I say that already, well I’ll say it again Brian is awesome! He is a heck of a lifter, a fighter, a go-go getter, and a “Im not going to quit” sayer (I know that’s not a word but it works, just go with it). There is no bad WOD to Brian in CF and there is no favorite one, he enjoys and looks forward to seeing what Mike and Joey have so lovely prepared for him and the class that day. But, I am with him when he states “except manmakers…those suck,” I am sure you are knodding your head right now, thinking, yep those sure do suck!
When asked what keeps him motivated, Brian states “people and progress.” We all enjoy the PR’s and gains that we experience with CFGB, but, just as important as our workouts is our community, and it is outstanding! Brian is nothing short of a pillar that supports and holds our family-like community together at CFGB. He was one of the original members and has continually been a dedicated member that we appreciate day in and day out. Brian is thankful for all of you at CFGB, you are a reason he keeps coming back for more!
For Brian one of his biggest CFGB accomplishments has been being able to take any weight over his head, like most of us he had a “motivating” experience with the snatch one beautiful Sunday afternoon. After struggling with that particular lift for the workout he heard the most masculine of fairy like voices softly whisper in his ear “why don’t you try to do an over head squat?” Thank you MIKE! Brian is now able to conquer and defeat his lifts and proudly OHS, snatch, press, jerk, and yes perform a pass-through! Next in line — SNATCHING JOEY! Look out Joe Joe!
As some of you know Brian will be leaving in November, we all will miss him and we all appreciate his positive attitude and motivating demeanor! You are a cherished member of CFGB Brian, thank you, from all of us, you have showed us that it is better to smile and that no workout is a bad workout! Good luck to you!!
I will miss all of you. I want to thank everyone for the support and friendship you’ve given me throughout the years that I’ve been here. CFGB is a special place, where clients not only become better athletes, but better people. Thank you for truly making us all “fitter, faster and stronger.”- Brian
