Ok I just wanted to drop a line about my experience at the Cold War 2 Crossfit Comp in DC. First off, I was extremely excited to see and hang out with former CFG/CFMO members Carrie Baker and Megan Houk. As far as being a coach I got to see individuals CFG members who never completing in the sport of fitness throw down and take a 2nd place finish overall in the scaled division. I worked with the members on the scaled team on o-lifting for a solid 4 weeks. Going into the comp everybody was uncertain about the lifting portions of the workouts….5 minutes before the wods would start I had team members begging me to do the Snatches and Jerks…..I was watching their confidence grow as the weekend went on!!! As a coach/athlete I got to watch a teammate step into the comp with no Crossfit Comp experience and smash RX workouts one after another. That individual’s confident sky rocketed!!! My female teammate hit new PR’s she could never imagine. She ran a mile with 45lbs on her back…..3 years ago she couldn’t run 400m…..she pulled a 410lb sled-100m…..nailed several chest to bar pull-ups…..did 70lb KB SDLHPs…….hit her (1rm clean) for seven reps in least then 2 minutes!!! You better believe I am a proud teammate and coach…..I will have several images posted in the gym soon! Our teamwork, chemistry, and comradery was unmatchable compare to other gyms! I can’t wait to coach and complete with everyone at the next comp! Keep killing it folks!
Who would like to see a Crossfit Kids Bootcamp during this Christmas Break at Crossfit Goldsboro? 2 weeks of training (x3 a week) What’s your thoughts and who would be interested?
